multi-species concept

You're probably wondering - what is that supposed to be? Don't worry, we'll explain it to you here.

This is a form of probiotics. Here, different bacterial genera, species or strains are combined with one another and can ideally develop their effect most efficiently, as the specific properties of the bacteria cooperate with one another and synergies arise.
Many factors play a role in the effectiveness of probiotics. On the one hand, the potency of the preparation - which is measured in CFUs, i.e. colony-forming units - has a strong influence on the effect. On the other hand, the composition of the various bacterial strains is crucial to success. This is because the composition of probiotics is system-specific. Each probiotic bacterium fulfills its own function, which is why a combination of many different strains can be more effective. The health-promoting effect benefits not only from the diversity of the composition, but also from synergy effects that can occur between the individual cultures.
Modern probiotic preparations use this concept to achieve increased effectiveness. If careful attention is paid to how the different probiotic bacterial strains interact with each other when formulating the product, they can complement each other and enhance the desired effect.
The following synergistic effects are particularly pronounced:

  1. The successful settlement :
The little helpers in your intestines can settle there particularly well if different strains are ingested at the same time. As already mentioned, their individual characteristics have a direct effect on other types of bacteria in the intestines - this can lead to synergies! In addition, the formation of a probiotic niche can bring great advantages for the colonization of the intestines. This happens, for example, through the creation of an optimal pH value or through an anaerobic environment, because this is where the bacteria feel particularly comfortable.

  2. A health-promoting effect :
The probiotic effect and thus the health-promoting effects on the intestines and the entire body are enhanced by the combination of different strain-specific properties. Here too, the effect of the probiotics is improved when different probiotic niches are colonized, the bacterial strains work together and the bacterial diversity - and thus the diversity of properties - is greater. The interactions caused by different bacterial strains also lead to increased activity in the intestines and thus to a greater exchange of nutrients in the body.
